Onward Speech & Language Therapy is a pediatric mobile private practice that provides in-home speech therapy services for children in Davie, FL and its surrounding areas.

We hope to connect to our families in order to support them on their onward therapy journey through compassion, curiosity, individuality, integrity and service.

We support the growth of each individual child and their family with up-to-date and evidence-based therapy. Our background in various settings and therapy approaches allows us to treat your child and your family as a whole.

Meet the Founder & your SLP!

Wendy is a bilingual, Florida state licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Florida International University and then continued to complete her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University.

Wendy has been practicing and learning alongside many families for over a decade. Alongside her passion of creating individual experiences for her clients, Wendy has received specialized training in the areas of feeding, orofacial myology, and lactation counseling. She specializes in pediatric developmental and functional communication skills, including receptive and expressive language, articulation, oral motor skills and feeding therapy and support.

Wendy takes a natural and functional approach in assessing and treating children with communication needs by considering their diagnosis, cultural diversity, sensory needs, health and social history and family and client goals. She believes each child has various needs and builds upon their strengths through positive experiences and rapport building to further help them achieve their speech, language, and feeding goals.

Besides building and creating this privately owned therapy practice, Wendy loves to spend time with her husband, 2 boys, and their dog, Bubba. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and watching her boys play sports. She enjoys creating experiences and living each experience with her family and friends. Do you take insurance?

We are a private pay practice. At this time, we are out of network with insurance companies and cannot bill insurance but we can provide you with a superbill with detailed documentation so you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for therapy. Please call your insurance company before scheduling an evaluation or therapy session to determine the benefits given to you according to your out-of-network benefits.

What do your therapy sessions look like?

We offer in-home therapy sessions or previously agreed upon locations in 45 or 60 minute individual sessions depending upon your child’s needs and your SLP’s recommendation. Our approach is a child-led and family-oriented natural and functional therapy, where fun and experiences are taken into account and every session is a learning and growing experience for the child and their family to meet their speech-language and feeding goals.
